COVID-19 Updates

The school Crisis Management Team has identified that we have met one of our thresholds for school closure. A majority of CMAC international schools are closed this week, and we have decided to follow suit and postpone the start of school until January 11. All student events, including athletics and extracurricular activities, will also be canceled during this time. This proactive measure will allow additional time for families who have traveled during the break and for any further developments or announcements from the Chiang Mai government about potential school closures.

January 6-8: No School

Teachers will use this week to prepare for the potential for transitioning to online learning. This time will also allow for GIS administration to discern if any other actions or delay will be needed. Communication will come out later from academic leadership on guidance for online educational plans, if necessary. Please stay tuned for future announcements.

If you have immediate questions or concerns, please email the Crisis Management Team at (cmt@gisthailand.org).

We pray that the situation in Thailand will improve and that we can return to on-campus school and community events very soon.

In His Grace,

Steve Anderson
